RSS + images = Stay updated without moving your mouse (or How I learned too much about Amy Winehouse)
PicApp users are simply lean-mean-blogging-machines. How do we know? Our servers tell us that our average blogger writes more than 3 posts a week!
So, we thought… Hey - let’s make their life easier!

How? - We've added the power of RSS to the our image results stream.
If you don’t know what RSS is (I guess most of you know but if you want to catch up quickly - here's a good summary ), it’s basically a live bookmark that updates on its own.
As a logged-in PicApp user, each one of your searches allows you to subscribe to an RSS feed of the results. This means that each time we get new images that match your search you will be automatically informed via your RSS reader – in real time!
So instead of bloggers chasing brand new images for their extra hot posts, PicApp would do it for them.
See how I used it:
Let’s say I’m blogging about young, interesting and talented person like me (OK, not like me, more like the really cool Amy Winehouse):
I login to the PicApp site and naturally run the search “Amy Winehouse” to get the best new images at hand:
As you can see, a new RSS button now appears on the image results page (to the left of the search box):
Now, just use the RSS button to subscribe for this specific search auto-updating results feed.
You can subscribe to the feed using the shortcuts your browser offers (see Firefox above) or copy the address and paste it into your favorite reader, I’m using Google’s Reader for my RSS needs,so it looks like the example below, but this will obviously work for all feed reading tools.
Every time the talented (although a bit, ahmm, shall we say, troubled) Ms Winehouse does anything new – an updated image will be added to our inventory, and YOUR feed reader will update YOU as it happens!
Have fun staying updated!
